About JNV

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Mysore is one among the 598 JNvs governed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) an autonomous organization functioning under the ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, Govt. of India. Established in the year 1986, NVS has emerged as one of the leading brands in the field of education in the public sector, with the best results in CBSE examinations, nationally and internationally well placed alumni and 2,41,648 students all over the country as of 31st March 2015.

JNV Mysore was established in the year 2003 and started it formal functioning in the temporary site, Aloka Palace, in Yelwalla and later got shifted to the permanent site comprising 30 acres of land pollution free environment at DMG Halli in the year 2007. The school is affiliated to the CBSE, and has already created excellent track records in both academic and co-curricular activities like sports and games, NCC, scouts and guides, Youth Parliament, Cultural Integration etc. At present there are 485 students from class VI to XII.
